UTS Scholarship Conditions of Award MBA Scholarship for Outstanding International Students

This document sets out the conditions of award for the below scholarship (‘Scholarship’) also as
the obligations of recipients (‘Recipient’) and UTS with regard to the present Scholarship. the executive
processes to support awarding this Scholarship are going to be managed, and should be amended, in
accordance with UTS Rules, Policy and Procedures.

  1. SCHOLARSHIP NAME:
    MBA Scholarship for Outstanding International Students (Current)
  2. PURPOSE:
    The intention of this Scholarship is to support high achieving international postgraduate students
    enrolled within the UTS Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree.
  3. VALUE AND BENEFIT

3.1 Number of Recipients:
Six (6) new Recipients are going to be awarded the Scholarship annually . Usually three (3) new recipients
are going to be awarded in Autumn semester, and three (3) Recipients in Spring semester.

3.2 Benefit/s to Recipient:
• the utmost total value of the Scholarship is $2,000 to every Recipient.

• The Scholarship are going to be awarded through a discount of tuition fees only .
• The Scholarship can’t be transferred, deferred or redeemed for cash.

3.3 Payment of benefit/s:
• the schooling fee contribution of $2,000 are going to be made on to the Recipient’s UTS fees account
within the semester of award.
• The transfer are going to be made before the maturity for tuition fee payment within the semester of
award.
• the schooling fee contribution is subject to the Recipient satisfying ongoing eligibility
criteria as defined in clause 8.

  1. DURATION:
    The duration of the Scholarship is one semester. Extension of the Scholarship isn’t possible.
  2. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
    To be eligible for the Scholarship, an applicant must meet all of the subsequent criteria:
    This Scholarship doesn’t provide for other educational cost related to the course. Such costs include
    Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC), Student Services and Amenities Fee, living allowances, travel and medical costs.

Conditions of Award MBA Scholarship for Outstanding International Students

• Must be a world student (neither an Australian citizen, New Zealand citizen nor permanent resident of Australia
• At the time of Scholarship selection the applicant must have completed one (1) year of full time and motion study (equivalent to 48 credit points) within the UTS Master of Business Administration (MBA) award
• Have achieved a minimum weighted average mark (WAM) of Distinction average (75%) in their MBA.
Previous recipients of this Scholarship or the MBA Scholarship for Outstanding International Students Commencing.

  1. RECIPIENT SELECTION CRITERIA, IN PRIORITY ORDER:
    • Academic merit (WAM) within the UTS Master of Business Administration (MBA)
    • Motivation to achieve the UTS MBA program, as demonstrated within the Scholarship application
  1. SELECTION:
    Applications of eligible candidates are going to be presented to a Scholarship Selection Committee (‘Committee’), which can undertake the choice of Recipients, usually in February annually for the Autumn intake and July annually for the Spring intake.

The Committee are going to be made from a minimum of three relevant UTS staff members, chaired by the Dean, UTS graduate school (or their nominee).
Offers are going to be authorised by the chair of the Committee.

  1. ONGOING RECIPIENT ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

8.1 UTS Enrolment:
The Recipient:
• Must still be enrolled full-time as a world student within the UTS graduate school MBA coursework degree for the duration of the Scholarship.

8.3 Leave / Deferral:
• If the Recipient withdraws or applies for a Leave of Absence from the UTS course after the start of the semester during which the Scholarship is awarded, the Scholarship are going to be terminated and any Scholarship payment already made for that semester is to be reversed.

8.4 Other obligations and conditions:
• The offer of the Scholarship is formed subject to information provided by the Recipient being true and accurate.
• By accepting the offer of the Scholarship, each Recipient agrees to the Conditions of Award.
• For the duration of the Scholarship the Recipient isn’t permitted to carry other UTS Scholarships, unless approved by exception.
• The Recipient is liable for advising the Scholarships Office of any changes in circumstances that might make him/her ineligible for continuation of the Scholarship, e.g. taking leave of absence, deferring study or change of Residency status.
• If the Recipient obtains Permanent Residency status before the census date of the semester of award the Scholarship are going to be terminated and any tuition fee Scholarship payment already made for the semester are going to be reversed.

Conditions of Award MBA Scholarship for Outstanding International Students

• The Recipient are going to be invited to consent to allowing his/her name, photograph and a brief
article to be used for the promotion of UTS.
• Any change within the Recipient’s circumstances not addressed by these Conditions of Award will be considered by the Scholarships Office and/or the Scholarship Selection Committee case- by-case.

  1. TERMINATION OF RECIPIENT’S SCHOLARSHIP:
    The Scholarship will terminate:

• If the Recipient ceases to satisfy the eligibility criteria; or
• If the Recipient breaches any conditions of the Scholarship; or
• If UTS determines that the scholar is guilty of misconduct and after consultation with the
Registrar the delegate ready to award the Scholarship deems that it’s not appropriate for the
Recipient to still hold the Scholarship.
